More Mandatory Vacation

They told us this week that we all have to take a whole week off the week after Fourth of July. Wow. I have to use 5 days of vacation time. I only have 8 days left so 5 days will give me exactly 3 vacation days to use for Thanksgiving. I suppose it will work out unless we have to use any more days before November. It could be worse. People at other companies have to take unpaid furloughs. At least I still get paid.

Well, I was complaining that I didn't have anything exciting to look forward to so now I get to plan a trip. Of course I will be visiting family...what else is there? It looks like the plane ticket will cost $300. Hmmm...buy a surge guard for the RV or buy a plane ticket? Family first, right?

At least this time they gave you enough time to plan for something.

Your nephew back home yet?

Yes, and I was thinking about taking vacation that week anyway.

My nephew is slowly improving. The morphine made him sick and set him back over the weekend. Today he was finally able to keep down some yogurt and chocolate milk. If he doesn't get out Friday I think he'll be in until Monday.

keeping food down sounds like a good sign.

almost forgot, I saw this when looking at Craigslist for camper vans

Thanks for the link. I was looking at some other online stores today. That type is a surge protector and the expensive one is called a surge guard. I'm not sure what is needed in my situation. I need the 30 amp which is a little bit cheaper than the 50, only $80 for the protector. I can handle $80 if I only need a protector.

I wish that my work told me I had to take 5 days off for the 4th of July. That would be sweat. :)

Have fun on your mini vacation.

Yes, MoneyFunk, the silver lining was that I was thinking about taking that week anyway and now I don't have to beg for it. I hate having to ask for time off.
