Pondering Other Opportunities

As much as my job drives me batty, I think I am getting used to it. Or maybe batty is becoming normal. One of the guys I used to work with told me that he is applying for another job and asked if I wanted him to recommend me for his job. I said no. It would be more money than I make now but I would have to move. When I lived out there I spent a lot of time amusing myself with shopping. I certainly don't want to get back in to that habit. I really like having all of my stuff in one place here on my little patch of desert. I have plenty of projects to keep my busy and a frugal routine which keeps my expenses very low. If I moved out there I would have to rent an apartment or move my RV to an RV park and pay space rent and utilities. If I had any rental house issues I would have to drive 3 hours to deal with them. I think staying with my current job is the fastest and least stressful way to pay off my mortgage. But I am flattered that he thought of me.

No harm in thinking things through, and it sounds like you did.

The place I work at now is actually a place I left for a couple of years and came back to. It is probably battier (more batty?) the second time around.

Don't let them get to you or else you will never get over the cubicle wall!

Hi there-yes, some job opportunities mean having to adjust to a more expensive standard of living which overall isn't worth the stress or change of lifestyle, well done for sticking to what you want.
