Saturday Chores

I went outside to water my tomato plant today. To my surprise only an empty pot remained. Last week something cut off two of it's branches in a successful attempt to reach 3 green tomatoes. I think it was probably a pack rat. I guess he liked the taste because he came back and finished off the plant. Oh well, I have the worst luck with tomatoes. Of course I will try again. This year I want to set up my baker's rack outside of my RV. I'll put the tomato on a high shelf and hopefully nothing will get at it. This leaves only water, shade, fertilizer, and wind as the possible failure points but I am optimistic!

For the rest of the day I sorted through the last bags of old tenant possessions. Now I am finished with the sorting and I can drop the boxes at the thrift store and take the rest to the dump. It will be so nice when I don't have to look at that junk any more.

Someone I knew from college contacted me on Facebook today. He is married with 4 cute kids. His family lives in Germany while he is stationed in Iraq as a doctor. Wow. Now he wants to know what I've been up to. Hmmm...how can I make being a landlord to druggies sound glamorous? :)

Birds got to most of my last tomato plants :(

I can't vouch for glamorous, but your life certainly seems interesting. I read about it
here everyday :)

Birds got mine last summer too. Each time is a different enemy!

Perhaps being in Iraq makes my friend yearn for a slower paced life such as my own. I know I would want to hear some mundane news if I was there.
