A Little Gas Station Drama

Last night I needed gas for my truck. I was feeling lazy so I decided to wait until the morning. On the way home the low gas light went on so I was a little bit worried about running out of gas. I managed to get up a little early despite the rainy weather and drove in to the gas station. I couldn't believe that the low and medium grade gasoline said 'out of order' on all of the pumps. I really needed gas so I stopped and got $15 worth of premium gas. Good thing prices are down. It was only $1.71/gal.

Later in the day, a coworker mentioned that Flying J the company who delivers gas for that station had filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy the day before. Hmmm. Coincidence?

Besides all of the sales going on and some stores closing, I haven't noticed many day to day things being affected by this recession until now. I take notice when there is no gas. It looked like the station had been able to re-fill by the time I went home. It is interesting to see how everything is inter-related. I don't notice until the weakest link fails and things that I take for granted are no longer available. It's just one of those things that makes life interesting.

Hi there-our local swimming baths and gym and also the local Ford dealership have shut down on my local high road, it certainly is a sign of the times, very sad. Have a wonderful Christmas my dear.
