Craig's List Success...The New Shed Is Here!

Today was the big day. My shed arrived. The shed mover called me at 9:30 and said he would be at my property at 10:15. Just as I was about to leave work, my boss sent out an email that said I must attend a teleconference. I tried to call him but he didn't answer so I left a message with a co-worker and snuck out. When I got to the end of my street I happened to see my neighbors coming down the road. These were the neighbors who are going to help me pay to have the road fixed. It was nice to meet them in person. I am meeting so many new people lately.

My shed arrived and he managed to drive down my rocky road and position the shed where I wanted it.

He even leveled it for me which was very nice.

Here is the shed's new home. I need to trim that tree some more. I mentioned that I wanted to move in to the shed and he said that he moved 2 sheds for someone who hooked them together and their mother-in-law lived in them. Interesting.

Since he had that nice big truck, I asked him if he could do me a favor and knock over my leaning TV antenna tower. It leans a little more every year and I didn't want it to fall on me or my truck.

He backed his truck up and pushed it over. I don't know if any parts are salvageable but I will put it on Craig's list for free and see if anyone wants it.

Cost of my new/used shed: $900
Cost to move: $350
Total: $1,250
Almost instant gratification...priceless.

I am very glad that I didn't attempt to build my own shed. I would have been very frustrated and probably have given up after spending hundreds of dollars. By buying someone else's shed I recycled building materials, helped out a local person who needed the cash, and gave money to a local business to move the shed. Looks like a win-win situation to me.

That picture of it on the back of the truck really puts its size into perspective. That's a big shed!

I think because it is 9 feet tall, it makes it look smaller when there's nothing to compare it to. Next step...paint! What do you think...desert camoflauge or something bold like pink and purple stripes?

Oh so exciting! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm going with bold colors!

I think it looks terrific the way it is! Gee, that would be an inexpensive way to go if you had two of those. Let's see that would be 12x20, and you could extend it with a shed roof on two sides and you have a nice little cottage. I can see it now, with a white picket
fence, widow boxes, and a little garden with flowers, berries, and vegetables.

Bold colors for sure. Maybe even a mural or three.

Guess what color paint was at the Habitat store? Purple! I didn't buy it...yet. I haven't decided.
