Scraping the Bottom of the Cupboards

I really don't want to go to the store. I know I am going to buy too much food and stuff and then I will just have to haul it out to my RV in 10 days. I'm not going to make it that long though. I have run out of some essentials like milk, lettuce, tomato, carrots and vanilla ice cream. Interesting essentials hmm? Sometimes I go for weeks without eating lettuce and tomato but my guests left behind bread, cheese and deli meat so I keep thinking about sandwiches. It's not the same without lettuce and tomato. I have been eating the deli meat plain. They also left some ramen noodles which I ate (after throwing out the shrimp flavor packet) with my crock pot chicken, some peas and cheese. If I had some cream of something soup I could have called it a casserole. I cooked more noodles tonight so I can bring it for lunch tomorrow. I still have a big sausage, one can of spaghetti sauce, pasta and cheese. I'll make that this weekend. If I can just limit my purchases to a small milk, carrots, and one fun thing (I can't think of what that would be right now) I will be able to eat that before I move.

Here's what is in my freezer: Cheese, margarine, pitas (hmm, are they still good?), hamburger buns, one chicken breast (if it is as tough as the last 2 I had better put it in the crockpot from the start), one serving of leftover chicken (I forgot about that), cookies and fudge from a friend.

And my fridge: more margarine, bread, half container of deli chicken slices, cheese, big polish sausage, pepperoni, flour tortillas, little bit of crockpot chicken, granny smith apples (I always meant to bake a pie), one orange, pickles, jelly, strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, maraschino cherries, Parmesan cheese, teryaki sauce, ketchup, mustard, really old vanilla frosting.

And my cupboards: raisin bran, corn bran (but no milk), pasta, spaghetti sauce, chips, crackers, popcorn, brownie mix. There is a lot less in the cupboards than in the picture. I took that picture a few months ago. I left a lot of the non-perishable items at the RV. They are heavy and I knew I probably wouldn't eat them during my 2 week stay at my house. I need to make sure some of my food is still good before I haul it back to the RV. I have been carrying those pitas and that frosting around for months now. Those hamburger buns have got to be pretty old too. I think I will try making mini-pizzas with them. I need to eat the pepperonis before they go bad anyway.

Oh that reminds me. I have to shop for my new guests too. I don't want to have to go to the store more than once. That means toilet paper and paper towels have to go on the list and laundry detergent and maybe some more soap. I always leave a bag of Hershey's miniatures too. That's it though. I'm not going overboard buying food for my guests this time. They always seem to buy what they like anyway. I have so much coffee. Everyone likes a different kind. The last people bought instant! I give up. I can't please everyone.
