My Goals For 2008

I feel like I jumped in to this year after it had already started so I would like to take a moment to define my goals for the year.

The biggest one is to kick off my mortgage re-payment plan. That consists of renting out my house to pay for the mortgage as well as using the money that used to be going towards the mortgage- $800 plus $400 more squeezed off of my budget to make an additional monthly payment of $1200. With this plan my mortgage will be paid off in 4 years.

Next goal: Rent out my house full time and settle in to my RV so that I am not moving back and forth between residences anymore. I waste a lot of time moving and I never know where anything is. Plus it is very difficult to start a project when I don't have everything I need with me. This will give me more time to....

Next goal: Make more money by selling stuff on ebay and get organized. Once I am organized I want to make a craft to sell at the local weekend market. I think I will start with polymer clay magnets like these that I made for my mom for Christmas. I have a ton of clay plus I have leftover magnets and glue.

I also wanted to start a garden and raise 2 chickens but I don't think the time is right for that yet. Last year's garden was a lot of trouble and the wild animals ate it. Only my strawberry plant is left. I don't eat a lot of eggs and chickens need care everyday. I don't have the money to build a pen and I don't want to be woken up in the middle of the night when predators come around. I had enough of that during my childhood. I guess those 2 things will have to wait until I build a house with a walled yard.

I am really excited about my mortgage plan and any extra money that I get will be added to it. Every month I will get closer to freedom from my job. Not that I will quit right away, but having the freedom to quit if I want to is a delightful thought.

I'd also recommend Etsy.com for selling crafts.
