Farewell Til Next Year

It's that time. Time to disconnect my little computer corner and load it into my truck. I probably won't get a chance to post while I am visiting my family. My plane leaves on Saturday and my guests arrive next Wednesday so I have to have everything ready for their arrival. Tomorrow the computer and any extra food will go out to my RV. I am mostly packed. I just need to pack the things I am still using. I get very nervous about trips because I am always afraid I am going to forget something important like to re-setting the electronic locks or miss my plane. On Friday I will make this place look like a hotel again.

When I return on Jan 1st I will have to stay in my RV one night and then I can come back to the house for a while until the next guests arrive Jan. 22. After that I hope to stay in my RV permanently because the house should be rented out. I haven't even advertised the house yet. After my last online advertisement expired I wanted to take a little break from answering rental questions. When I get back from vacation I am going to advertise again on the cyberrentals.com site, on craigslist.com and in the newspaper. I am going to try to rent it as a furnished rental for as long as I can because I don't want to have to sell all of the furniture. Plus, there is a vacant, unfurnished house down the street with a for rent sign and it seems like it has been empty for months. I definitely don't want that. I think I would rather move back in and get a roommate first. Ok, maybe not. But I would be willing to rent it at the unfurnished price as a furnished rental. That is how much I don't want to sell all the stuff inside. Unfurnished rentals go for $950/m. I am hoping to get $1200 furnished.

In other news, I gave up on my Christmas list and got the last 2 people gift cards. I just couldn't think of anything special enough plus I am really tired of paying for shipping. Even one of the gift cards that I bought, to HEB grocery store in Texas, cost $5!!! to ship. I thought that was terrible but I couldn't figure out how to buy Safeway gift cards online so I was just happy that I could buy it online. The other one was a Lowe's gift card (free shipping, yea!). I am giving it to my brother-in-law and telling him it is for CF light bulbs. I still have a few more gifts to buy when I arrive in Washington. I am hoping I will not be shopping at Walmart on Christmas Eve like last year.

So, Farewell, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I will be back next year probably around the 3rd.
