Shop-Less Challenge Continued

After the initial few weeks of no shopping this is getting much easier. I don't even think about going shopping. I am saving gas and money from not buying un-needed items. I am getting better at planning meals so that I use up what I already have. I haven't even made the lasagna yet. I had some chicken that needed to be used first. I guess I will be making lasagna this weekend. I put off buying more flowers for the pots in the backyard and now the existing plants are blooming like crazy because of the summer rains. I didn't even need more plants, just more patience.

Ok, so I did buy $13 worth of clothes at the thrift store last week. I guess that helped curb my desire for shopping. I have had a lot of fun this week putting together new outfits for work. I actually look forward to getting out of bed in the morning when I have new-to-me clothes to wear.

There are a few things around the house that I would like to buy. They aren't immediately necessary but they are things that I would like for my guests when I rent out the house. A new waffle maker, another set of queen sheets, a queen headboard (I am thinking of creative alternatives), and real drapes for my kitchen and dining room windows to replace the sheets. I would also like wood blinds but now we are talking big bucks. I will be happy with just a drapery upgrade.
