Bills and More Bills

After much anticipation I have in my possession the first of many doctor bills that I incurred from my experience with skin cancer in May. I have been watching these bills go back and forth from my insurance provider for months. This is the first time I have used this insurance so I am not sure how much I will pay out of pocket. One statement listed $1,750 as the maximum but now that I look at it again, that might be for out of network expenses. The latest statement says that $1,000 is the maximum. The bill that I received is for $1,100 so I am not sure how that fits in with the insurance limits. That bill is for one skin cancer and I had 2 so I am still anticipating a second bill.

I had hoped not to have to tap in to my savings to pay these bills but even with no extra shopping I have wiped out all of the extra savings from my checking account with this one bill. I have only been able to free around $300-$400 each month. If I get another bill before my next paycheck I will have to pay it with my savings.

At least I don't have to pay for it with a credit card. Hmmm, that gives me an idea. I just wrote a check but if they accept my credit card with cash back rewards I can get a few dollars back and I won't have to pay for 30 days. I pay off my credit card every month anyway. I think I will call them tomorrow.
